I've been intrigued to open a real estate brokerage from a young age. I appreciated how my Godfather and his son ran a brokerage and truly cared for their clients. It seemed like they really enjoyed what they did. However, I saw a wide-ranging world of real estate specialties out there, so I wasn't intent to jump in immediately.
My dad was in the pension fund advisory business as a human resource executive. He worked among a plethora of financial asset managers, real estate included. I understood that a real estate asset manager needed to have a solid multi-dimensional base of expertise.
So, I sought to become a real estate asset manager, and thus built skills in analysis, research, valuation, financing, legal and transactional. After working as a Director of Asset Management at a NYC based real estate fund, I still felt something was missing. So, I pursued my Construction Engineering Management Masters at Columbia University.
After working as an on-site construction project manager on various large NYC-based projects, I decided it was the right time to open Pio Ventures Realty, LLC. The name emanates from Padre Pio, a Franciscan Friar, whom lived an extraordinary life of faith.
